In an attempt to have an organized move, I went to our local post office and filled out our change of address form. There is a clear place for the start date. I, of course, put our move-in date of August 20th. At that point I marked one more thing off of my to-do list.
Today- for the third day in a row- we have not received mail. The crazy people at the USPS have completely disregarded the “Start date” for our mail forwarding and just decided to stop delivering our mail. ARGGGG! So now, I add yet another item to my to-do list.
On a side note, I have a bridal show this weekend at the Lexington Center downtown. I am really excited about my fall weddings and looking forward to making several 2009 reservations. Hope to see you there!

I have been thinking a lot about when Andrew and I first met lately. I remember our first kiss, the first time I met his friends, our first trip together and so on. Of course I think of those moments and a huge smile comes to my face, we have had so many wonderful moments in the 4.5 years we have known each other! It is when I think of those times that I suddenly realize we have gotten to “busy” to even stop and savor the moments.
We have been meaning to get out the telescope and look at the stars, we have mentioned getting together with friends for a nice meal and we have even discussed cooking dinner together or maybe even getting the laundry done. With work, building the new house and family we have little time left for friends and even each other. As I sit in the family room, I look around and see piles of papers that I desperately need to go through, boxes that need to be moved to the garage and my new bubble bath from Sephora sitting on the end table. Which makes me wonder why I spent $16 for the newest Philosophy bubble bath anyway- when will I have time for a bubble bath?

I am hoping that once we are in the new house our schedules will balance out and we will get back into the routine of life. Still somewhat busy, but more focused on the important things in life – like capturing the moments and making them memories to smile about.

Looks like we now have all the brick done, lights on the inside and outside, electricity, and even some of the flooring in. Of course, along with all of this, we have locked doors which is making it less fun to go and look every other day. Nonetheless, Rayna and I are both really excited and cannot wait to move to our new house.
For all the nerds reading, we ran 2-3 CAT5 lines to almost every room and wired the family room for surround sound. The TV will be mounted to the wall and may be accompanied by an AppleTV or something similar since the Xbox needs to be retired. Eventually, as budget permits, we’d like to have several lights, alarms, and other devices hooked up to a ZWave system, making them fully remote-controllable.
One last geeky statement: I wrote this post using the new WordPress iPhone app.

Today is my beautiful wife’s birthday. She is still every bit as radiant and joyful as the day I first met her four and a half years ago. Her smile and laughter can truly penetrate my heart and for that I am happy to celebrate the day she was born. I know that others out there are celebrating as well, for she has touched many lives in such a positive way. Happy birthday, love. I found some flowers for you!
Incidentally, today is also her brother’s birthday, but as a guy I don’t think I can call him radiant.

I am currently in the midst of wedding bliss! I have the two of the most fantastic weddings this month and my office (and mind) is currently overflowing with ideas, thoughts and lists… lots of lists. Although I have so much to get done, my day has been quite productive. I even had time to browse the web.
In an effort to clear my mind I search for a puppy. I know, it sounds crazy but I currently have puppy fever. lol A lot less expensive then baby fever and I won’t have to gain an extra 30lbs! haha
While searching for the cutest pug around I found this little gal for adoption. Her name is Sassy. Sassy lives at Safe Harbor Farm in Frankfort, KY which offers a loving home to many pigs that have sadly been abused, neglected or left to die.

Since I was a child I have loved pigs. I use to collect anything with a pig on it, from jewelry to clothing to figurines. Now as an adult I still have a few pigs around the house, but it makes me sad to think that I have outgrown my love of pigs. So today- I have decided to go back on the hunt for stylish pig additions to our home. Pigs will always make me smile, and I truly love anything (or anyone – Andrew!!) that makes me smile. To me that is what life is all about!
Enjoy this little pig Sassy, and remember if you have a place in your heart and home for her, she is adoptable.

I love my brides!! Every one of them are so fantastic, but Lyndsay has a very special place in my heart. Not only am I privileged to be her bridal consultant but we grew up together. Our parents were best friends and we spent summers together camping, swimming and wearing some of the most horrible 80′s fashions possible. lol Sadly we have pictures to prove it! haha
I am very excited that Lyndsay has met Eric and they are getting married on November 15, 2008. Their photographer, Mary Lashbrook, is a total doll and I can’t wait to see what she has captured.
To my dear friend Lyndsay- I wish you all of the happiness in the world! I love you!
